There are some forty spelling variations of the name, Feezell, all falling within the soundex "F240" category.
An early spelling of the Feezell name was likely written as Vuisel, pronounced as "Veesul," "Feesul," or "Feezul" with the emphasis on the first syllable, and the last syllable pronounced as "sul" or "zul".
In dealing with an unusual name such as ours, it's important to remember that most of these early immigrants and their children could neither read nor write in any language when coming to America. Most of the early documents which offer the best clues to our early families, e.g., ships lists, land records, census records, marriages and birth documents, etc., were written by county clerks, immigration agents, or church pastors who merely entered the name as it sounded "phonetically. The subject - our forbears - simply placed their mark, an "X," upon the document.
Early Frederick, Dunmore, and Shenandoah county records for the family and children of Michael Feasel Sr. show the name spelled variously as Feisel, Feezle, Phissel, Feasle and others, which place the earlier pronunciation as Feasel, with emphasis on an "S" instead of a "Z," but with time the pronunciation may go from "Feasel" to "Feezell."

Feezell Family
My name is Jeff Bright. My Grandmother was Edica Feezell- Bright who passed away in November 1998 in Maryville TN. It's my understanding her father was George Washington Snider Feezell and her mom was Ida Simerly Long. We took a trip to Cades Cove in September and I saw some of the head stones of my relatives. I love all the history of the Smokies and especially of the cove. I hope to some day be buried in the cove although not to soon. I've read where there is a Feezell cemetary in the cove. Does anyone know where it is located?
