Information for the Feezell family

Early US History - 1794 - 1850

The earliest Feezell land records in Tennessee are found in a Hawkins County deed dated 1794, between George Feazel and Elisha Walling (Wallen?) for 250 acres of land located on "Mulberry creek."

A second deed appears in 1799, which apparently returned ownership of this same land to the previous owner, Walling, but during this same year, 1799, George's younger brother Martin married Mary Tressler (or Dressler). More of the families of George and Martin can be found under the children of Michael Feazel SR of Shenandoah Co VA.)

Unfortunately however, this researcher (Don Feazel) nor any others to date, have been able to positively link either the Shenandoah Co. line of Feazels, nor the Bedford Co. line with either of the families of the two present day Feezell families still living in the area of eastern Tennessee, Greene and Sevier Counties.

In fact, no positive link has ever been made even between these two families. Much has been collected on both the Greene Co. and Sevier Co. Tennessee Feezell families and have been sent to me by several sources from each family.

In researching our family name, I have found this particular spelling is used almost exclusively by these two Tennessee families branches which we are about to look at;

GREENE CO TN family of "OLD HENRY" FEEZELL
SEVIER CO TN family of "OLD JOHN" FEEZEL

Two other Feezell lines, not attached to either of the above families can also be linked to later Tennessee settlement:

OBION COUNTY, RIDGELEY TN (MADRID BEND) FEASEL FAMILIES

HARDIN COUNTY TN FEAZELL FAMILIES with earlier links to the Alabama Feazell families of Isaac Feazell and wife Louisa Philips.
